Paula J. Banaszek, 71, East Moline, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Trinity Bettendorf. A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Monsignor William J. Cleary Endowment Fund. There is no visitation. Private entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Paula Tvarkunas was born July 11, 1940 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Peter and Lorine (Bohnert) Tvarkunas. She married Anthony Banaszek on March 3, 1962 in East Moline. Paula enjoyed being a homemaker and Mom. She loved being with family and dearly loved her grandchildren. She had worked at John Deere and later with her husband at Ridgewood Variety and Tony's Hobby and Key. She had been a member of the Garden Club and the St. Anne Quilting Club. She was a Chicago Cub fan and was an excellent cook and baker. Survivors include her husband Tony, children and spouses; Steven Banaszek, Chicago, Curt and Audra Banaszek, Munster, IN, Beth and Don Lucas, Bettendorf, Jeff and Sisilia Banaszek, Cedar Rapids and Matthew and Jessica Banaszek, Warrenville, IL, grandchildren, Ava, Emily, Olivia, Ella, Sarah and Peter; and her siblings, Betty (Stan) Banaszek, East Moline, Mary Ann Ferretti, Port Byron, Mike (Pam) Tvarkunas, Meridian, MS, Tony (Diane) Tvarkunas, Ballston Lake, NY, Monica (Larry) Helgesen, Houston, TX, and Peter Tvarkunas, Floral Park, NY. Paula's family would like to acknowledge all of her family and friends for their prayers, love and support. The family would also like to thank the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Dr. Hohl and his staff, for their exceptional Care.
