Pauline D.Van Tieghem, 84, East Moline, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pauline Valentine was born on July 27, 1932 in Melcher, IA, the daughter of Elmer and Jennie (Sandino) Valentine. She graduated from UTHS in 1950. Pauline then attended the Moline Institute of Commerce and began her career as a timekeeper at John Deere Harvester,She later retired from the Payroll Department at JD Parts and Distribution in Milan. Pauline was a loving Mother and Grandma. In earlier years she loved decorating, reading and spending time with her sister Phyllis and family. She also loved spending time on her patio visiting with family and friends. She could always make you laugh. Those left to honor her memory include children, Richard Van Tieghem, and Darin (Connie) Van Tieghem, both of East Moline, grandson, Zach Hungate, Geneseo, granddaughters, Taelor(Bobby) Cheffer, Silvis, Ariana Van Tieghem, Franklin, TN, Nicole Van Tieghem, East Moline and great granddaughter, Adeline Cheffer. The family would like to thank Angie Weimer who spent the last three years, caring for and keeping Pauline company and granddaughter Taelor Cheffer for her loving care.
