Funeral services for Pearl Smead, 101, Moline, are 10;30 AM Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. A memorial fund has been established. Pearl died Friday, February 4, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Cambridge, IL. Pearl Peterson was born February 1, 1910 in Hiteman, IA, the daughter of Percy and Selma Edman Peterson. She married James Smead on January 25, 1936 in Hiteman. He preceded her in death. Pearl had worked at the former Fresh Pac Candy, Moline, the Buddy L. Toy Company, East Moline, Moline Iron works and retired from the former United Methodist Church, Moline. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Moline. Pearl enjoyed playing cards, and an occasional trip to the casino boat. She loved being with her family, especially all the kids. Survivors include her children and spouses; Pat and Ken Reveal, Rapids City, IL, Judith Marie Weber, Cambridge, Percy Roy Smead Sr., Moline, a daughter-in-law Dorothy Smead, Moline, seventeen grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, son Jim, 3 sisters, a brother and 5 grandchildren.
