Funeral services for Pedro Cantu, 57, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 2:00-6:00 pm Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1PM. Mr. Cantu died Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the VA Hospital, Iowa City, IA. Pedro was born April 29, 1959, in Edinburg, TX, the son of Juvencio and Margarita Correa Cantu. He served in the U.S. Army for nearly 10 years, being stationed in Germany. Pedro was awnry and full of life. He enjoyed doing artwork. He loved spending time with his friends and family. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart. Survivors include his daughter, Gina Maria Prigge, Germany; 2 granddaughters, Germany; father, Juvencio Cantu; East Moline; siblings, Marta (Bill) Staranowicz, Pleasant Prairie, WI, Jaime (Frances) Cantu, Berta Velasquez, Noe (Estela) Cantu, Norma Cantu, and Flora Cantu, all of East Moline; aunt, Maria Correa, Colona, IL,; and uncle, Jose "Pepe" (Yolanda) Cantu, East Moline. He was preceded in death by his mother. Memorials may be made to the family.
