Funeral services for Peggy L. Johnson, 82, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00PM Sunday at the funeral home. Peggy died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Peggy Malone was born June 25, 1931 in Parkersburg, WV, the daughter of Lafayette and Stella Whitecotton Malone. She married Clinton Jones. She later married Leonard "Swede" Johnson. He died July 9, 1976. Peggy had worked as a waitress and bartender over the years. She had worked at several taverns including the L'il Cowbell, East Moline. She was a generous person who loved babies and children. She enjoyed gardening and had been an excellent cook. Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Carroll) Shiltz, Pleasant Valley, IA; sons, David (Denise) Jones, Oneida, WI, and Donald (Judy) Jones, Moline, IL; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren: loving companion, Marlin Miller, East Moline; and his two daughters, Marlise (Carl) Rittenhouse, Macomb, IL, and Rhonda (Terry) Carlock, Tennessee, IL.
