Funeral services for Peter W. Donth, 74, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at Union Congregational Church, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 2-5 PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mr. Donth died Friday, September 21, 2007 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Donth was born April 22, 1933 in Magnolia, MN, the son of Edward and Jennie (Nagel) Donth. He married Bobby R. Giboney May of 1960 in Luverne, MN. He later married Shirley (French) Rottman January 22, 1972 in Moline. He had served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired January of 1994 from John Deere Harvester, East Moline after nearly 30 years of service. He had been a member of the East Moline American Legion Post #227, 40/8, Quad City Country and Western Association. He was an avid dancer, and loved camping, befriending many people over the years, especially at Sunset Resort (former Landuit's Lake). He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include: his children and spouses, Marisa and Randy Sorrells, Moline, Cindy and Tony Carton, Stockton, IL, Tim Donth of Moline, Peter D. Donth of Moline, Debbie Rottman, Rock Island, Carla and Mike Golding of Moline, Doug and DeAnn Rottman of Moline; ten grandchildren, Benjamin Fawks, Tony Carton, Hannah Carton, Rachel Carton and Dominic Carton, Marshall Rottman, Joshua Schwenneker, Ashley Schwenneker, Aaron Golding, Kaytlyn Golding; two great-grandchildren, Eli Carton, Lilly Carton-Sikora; sister, Marjorie Smook of Magnolia, MN, brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Kim Donth of Luverne, MN, Karen and Mary Donth of Magnolia, MN; uncle, Albert Nagel of East Moline; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
