Peter (Pete) Lingris of Moline, Illinois, passed away on September 22, 2025.
Private services were held at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline, Illinois, followed by interment at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, Illinois.

Pete was born June 4, 1932, the son of George and Constantina (Kosiaras) Lingris in East Moline, Illinois.
Upon graduation from United Township High School, he attended Moline Community College, transferring to Loyola University, Chicago, where he played on the basketball team until drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. While stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, he was selected to play on the Army base's basketball team that went on to win the Fifth Army Championship.
Pete completed his bachelor's degree at Augustana College. While working on his master's degree at the University of Missouri he taught Economics and History at Kemper Military Academy. He worked at John Deere and the Rock Island Arsenal U.S. Army Industrial Operations Command as a Managerial and Financial Analyst until retiring in 1996 after 31 years of service.
On September 6, 1980, he married Suzanne Farrell, and they were blessed with two children. Pete was a devoted husband and father, and an active member of his church and its fraternal organizations. He had a lifelong love of sports and, as a gifted athlete and coach, cherished the friendships and memories he shared with his children, teammates, and players.
Pete is survived by his wife; his two children, George of Moline, Illinois, and Alexa (Shane Lohman) of Forest Hills, New York; his sister-in-law, Darlene Lingris; his brother-in-law, Richard Farrell; and dearly loved nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John Lingris and Thomas Lingris, sister-in-law, Irene Farrell, and niece, Catherine Lingris.
