Funeral services for Peter J. "Pete" Lopez, 73, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:30AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Pete's son, Fr. Bruce D. Lopez will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kewanee, IL at 3:00PM. Visitation will be 3:30-7:00PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:00PM. Mr. Lopez died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Mr. Lopez was born February 23, 1937 in Chillicothe, IL, the son of Panfilo and Josephina Rodriguez Lopez. He married Adelea "Olivia" Leon, September 26, 1959. He had served in the US Army Reserves. He retired from John Deere Experimental, Silvis after 30 years of service. Pete had been an Avid Chicago Cubs Fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and landscaping. He was an accomplished woodworker and upholsterer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his "world". Survivors include his wife Olivia Lopez of East Moline; daughters and son-in-law, Julie C. Kinnan of Milan, IL, Marie and Jerry Schadel Jr. of Donahue, IA; sons, Joseph R. Lopez of Davenport, IA, Fr. Bruce D. Lopez of Monticello, IL; grandchildren, Miguel and Marisa Lopez, Ashley, Keith, and Beca Kinnan, Jeremy, Jacob, Jerry III, and Juliana Schadel; great grandchildren, Noah and Isabella Schadel; sisters and brother-in-law, Lenora Bustamante of Chicago, IL, Louise Acosta of Chicago, Delores and Fernando Delgadillo of Bartonville, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gilbert and Mary Lopez of Silvis, Jesse and Margaret Lopez of Rock Island, IL; sister-in-law, Nadine Wakefield of Centerville, IA.
