Phillip A. "Phil" Braet, 71, of East Moline, passed away at Genesis, Illini Hospital, Silvis, IL, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

Phil was born on December 29, 1951, to parents, August and Veronica Huff Braet of East Moline, IL. He was a graduate of Alleman High School, Class of 1970, and Bradley University.  He married Donna J. Lincoln on October 3, 1981, in Rock Island, IL.

He was an electronic field service engineer who worked for General Electric then in 1989 started his own business, Advanced Control Inc. A customer once said Phil was the best CNC repair guy in the Midwest.  Phil was a lifelong member of St. Anne's parish. He was a dedicated family man, and his favorite pastime was boating on the Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry, sister JoAnn, and parents. He is survived by his wife, Donna, sons Christopher (Amy) Washington, IL, Matthew (Casey) Aurora, IL, and Patrick (Carrie) Coal Valley, IL; 10 grandchildren, Benjamin, Madison, Natalie, Samantha, Joshua, Jason, Anna, Skylar, Lincoln, and Parker; and siblings Dolores Shoecraft, Paul (Tanya) Braet, sister-in-law Joan Braet and brother-in-law John Conway.

A rosary will be recited 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation following from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, East Moline. Private family entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alleman High School or to St. Anne's Catholic Church, East Moline.
