Phillip Kirkhove Jr., 85, Silvis, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services are 10 AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation is 4-7 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3PM. Memorials may be made to the family.

Phil was born, February 22, 1932 in Kewanee, IL, the son of Phillip and Eva (Ross) Kirkhove Sr. He married Joyce Cady on October 2, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. He served in the US Army and the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Phil retired as an inspector from Caterpillar. After retirement he ran Phil's Gage repair. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, bowling, playing rolle bolle, golfing and made a hole in one at Golfmohr.

Surviors include his wife Joyce, children, Sandy (Daniel) Lyons, Winchester, VA, Russ Kirkhove, East Moline, Donna (Joe) Landuit, Orion, Carol (Jorge) Ramos, Moline, Debbie (John) Welzenbach, Rock Island and Joyce Ann (Wade) Williams, Yorkville, IL, eighteen grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
