Phyllis E. Samuelson Ryan, 86, East Moline, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at Trinity Regional Health Systems, Rock Island. Private services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery. An open house to celebrate her memory will be Friday, December 3, 2010 from 12Noon-2PM at the Party Room of Summit Ridge, 1800 7th Street, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. Phyllis Tarr was born December 6, 1923 in Oskaloosa, IA, the daughter of Ora and Marguerite (Brock) Tarr. She married A. Leonard "Lenny" Samuelson on November 30, 1946. Lenny died February 19, 1992. She later married F. Joseph Ryan on October 21, 1995. Joe died October 20, 1997. Phyllis and Lenny owned and operated QC Optical and Quad City Safety. Phyllis enjoyed playing cards and playing bridge. She had volunteered at Illini Hospital and enjoyed the game of golf. Survivors include her daughter (sons-in-law) Christine (Ron) Jeskie, Coal Valley, Becky (Greg) Duffield, East Moline, Kerry Gomez, Moline and Lisa Ramirez, East Moline, five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a brother Wayne Tarr, Caldonia, NY. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Heartland Health Care, and at Trinity Rock Island and Dr. Anis Ahmad.
