Phyllis J. Suhr, 71, Coal Valley, passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2013 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 3-7 PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Phyllis Anderson was born April 21, 1942 in Clarinda, IA, the daughter of Clyde and Danelia (Beezley) Anderson. She attended East Moline School. She married Leonard Suhr on September 27, 1959 at Watertown Baptist Church, East Moline. Mrs. Suhr had worked at the former State Bank of East Moline from 1973 until 1979 and at Wareco in Moline and East Moline from 1979 until 1996. She had also worked at the East End Bolder's Club, Moline, O'Melia's Supper Club and Allsteel from 2003 until 2007. She was a member of the East End Club, had been PTA President when her children were in school and enjoyed playing Rolle Bolle and painting. Survivors include her husband Leonard, children and spouses, Ken and Cathy Suhr, Decatur, IL, Leroy and Crystel Suhr, Parnell, IA, Karen and Mike Motley, Rock Island and Carl and Dawn Suhr, Milan, sixteen grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Julia Anderson, Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Anderson and infant brother Ivan Kyle.
