Funeral services for Raleigh S. Francois, 52, of Creve Coeur, IL, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 4:00 pm Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Mr. Francois died Monday, January 4, 2016, in Bartonville, IL. Raleigh was born February 15, 1963, in Moline, IL, the son of Joseph and Phyllis Smith Francois. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Saratoga. He was a union carpenter, working in the Peoria area. Raleigh was "one of a kind". He never met a stranger. He will be missed by all. Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Francois, East Moline; sisters, Jeanna (Tracy) Rushing, Moline, Linda (Jim) DeCock, San Diego, CA, Keri (Skip) Cramond, Bettendorf, IA, and Melissa (Tim) Ott, Moline; brothers, Joseph (Jan) Francois, Bloomington, IL, Patrick Francois, Saudi Arabia, and Todd Francois, East Moline; special companion, Stephanie Probasco, Creve Coeur; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, niece, Kimberly Marie DeCock, and nephew, Jason Theuninck. Memorials may be made to his mother, Phyllis Francois.
