Funeral services for Ralph D. Knobloch, 77, East Moline, are 10 AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 4-8 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited by Fr. Anthony Asinyo with the Catholic Order of Foresters at 7:30PM. In lieu of flowers and statuary, memorials may be made to the Monsignor William J. Cleary Endowment Fund at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy, East Moline. Ralph died peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 10, 2006. He was born October 13, 1928 in Silvis, the son of Joseph and May (Nobbe) Knobloch. Ralph graduated from East Moline High School in 1946. After graduation he joined the US Navy and was based on the Island of Guam for several months then he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS TARAWA for its world cruise from 1948-1949, serving a total of 38 months. He married Jeanne Louise Stulir September 7, 1953 in East Moline. Ralph was associated with his father and brothers in the Knobloch Poultry Market in East Moline. He later was a route man for 18 years for Bakers Dairy and retired in 1994 after 15 years as a meter reader from the former Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Co. Ralph was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, enjoyed collecting HO Trains and Department 56 Christmas Villages. He was a Chicago Bears Fan. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Jeanne, children and spouses Pamela and Gary Wallace, Tuscaloosa, AL, Alan and Terri Knobloch, Moline and Brian and Regina Knobloch, Moline, grandchildren Stacey, Geoffrey and Gregory Wallace, Courtney and Daniel Knobloch and Keeley, Timothy, Annie, Lily, Thomas, and Ryan Knobloch, sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Maurice Bossuyt, Tucson, AZ and brother and sister-in-law Robert and Ann Knobloch, East Moline. His brother and sister-in-law James and Dorothy Knobloch precede him in death.
