Obituary

Ralph E. "Pete" Clark, 76, of rural East Moline, passed away Tuesday September 8, 2020 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral services are 11:00AM Monday September 14, 2020 at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., East Moline. A visitation will be on Sunday from 4-6PM at the funeral home, and also 1 hour prior to services on Monday(10-11), where memorials may be made to The Arc of the Quad-Cities. Interment, with full military rites performed by the Moline American Legion Post #246, will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Ralph was born December 15, 1943 in Waukee, Iowa, a son of Robert Sr. and Ruth (Keyes) Clark. He graduated from UT High School, class of 1963, and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965. He served in the 7th Evac, stationed in Darmstadt, Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He married Jo Marckese on September 10, 1971 in Moline. She survives.

Also surviving are 2 daughters, Stephanie Clark of Camillus, NY, and Sarah Clark who was Pop's girl, of Moline, 3 brothers: Dean Clark of Moline, Bill (Ellie) Clark of Hampton and Tommy Clark of Silvis; special friends: Alan VerBeke and cousin Larry Glasford; and several nieces and nephews; and was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers.

Mr. Clark worked at John Deere Harvester Works for over 30 years as a machine operator until retiring in 2004.

He was an aviation enthusiast, having earned his private pilot's license, twin engine and instrument certifications, and his instructor's license. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, amateur archeology, and family genealogy.

He loved having his family all at home, and was a loving husband and father.
