Funeral services for Ralph H. Riggs Sr., 80, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Riggs died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at home. Memorials may be made to the family. Ralph was born June 1, 1930 in Thornfield, MO, the son of Lee and Erdie Heriford Riggs. He grew up in Ava, MO, and moved to the Quad Cities area after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Laura Levrouw March 27, 1954 in East Moline. She died July 2, 2002. He had been a machine operator for the former International Harvester, East Moline. He was a NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed playing cards and in his earlier years was an excellent pool player. Survivors include his daughters, Beverly (Dan) Meguffy of Hillsdale, IL, Connie (Westly) Woolsey of Milan; sons, Ralph Riggs Jr. of East Moline, Rickey (Sue) Riggs of Moline, IL, Jody Riggs of East Moline; grandchildren, Alicia (Matt) Schnepple, Chelsey Cordes, Shawn Riggs, West Woolsey, Zachary Woolsey, Jennifer Hetzel, and Nicholas Hetzel; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Tyler. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings, Maxine Loftin-Johnson, Quincy Riggs, Norman Riggs, Gene Riggs, and Cleo Herd.
