Memorial services for Ralph and Virginia Rumler, former long-time residents of Port Byron, will be held at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, October 2, 2010, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 555 18th Ave East Moline, IL. Inurnment will be at St Mary's Cemetery following the church services. Virginia (Ginny) Rumler died June 26, 2009 in Denver, Colorado and was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Rumler who died September 11, 2006 in Portland, Oregon. Ralph owned a wood and metal fabrication business in East Moline for many years, while Virginia was a stay-at-home mom. Ralph and Virginia were able to spend much of their retirement traveling and visiting family. They are survived by five children: son Joseph and his wife Elaine of Denver; daughter Suzanne Edmonson and her husband James of Oklahoma City; Daughter Janet Filbert of Oakridge, Oregon; son Paul Rumler and his wife Cyndi Lyden of Denver; and son John Rumler and his wife Yae Sook of Portland, Oregon. Ralph and Virginia also have nine grand children and nine great grandchildren. They are greatly missed by their extended family and friends.
