Funeral services for Ramona Sandoval, 84, East Moline, are 10 AM Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 2-6PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., with a rosary recited at 5:30PM. Ramona died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, surrounded by her family. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe to have masses said. Ramona was born September 7, 1923 in Silvis, the daughter of Lorenzo and Antonia (Gonzalez) Garcia. She married Ruben Sandoval on October 23, 1948 at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Silvis. Ramona had worked for John Deere during WWII, but found true joy being a homemaker. She was very devoted to her family and was always available to help others. Ramona was very active at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, including singing in the choir, Eucharistic Minister, Altar and Rosary Society, Funeral Lunch Server and Lector just to name a few. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ruben, her son Michael Sandoval, Silvis, and a sister Marcus Ruiz, East Moline and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brothers Isabel, Ray and Pat and sisters; Severina Ybarra, and Martina.
