Randel "Randy" Cervantes, 58, Silvis, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at his home. Funeral services are 10 AM Friday at Faith Walk World Outreach Center, Silvis. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is from 4-7 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Randy was born October 12, 1958 in Moline, the son of Michael and Mary Lou (Flores) Cervantes. He worked at Younker's and several other area retail stores. Randy had a passion for playing the drums, drawing and writing poetry. He was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Braves. Survivors include his mother Mary Lou Valladares, Moline, siblings, Brenda (Frank) Perez, Colona, Mychael Cervantes (Melinda Hopper), Rock Island, Nancy Zepeda (Gary Rasso), Moline, Raul (Connie) Cervantes, Moline, Sonia (Rick) Berg, Moline, Tony Valladares, Tyler, TX and Pedro (Silvia) Valladares, Moline and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece Nancy Benson. He was preceded in death by his father.
