Funeral services Randy L. Smith, 45, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Randy died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Randy was born March 28, 1963 in Brookfield, MO, the son of Richard and Marcella (Searcy) Smith. He married Carolyn Hill January 25, 1986 in Rock Island, IL. He had worked for Suburban Construction Davenport, IA, for 20 years as a Siding Applicator. Randy had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed helping people, especially when he would dress up as Santa and visit everyone at Trinity West. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were the most important thing in his life. Survivors include: his wife and best friend, Carolyn Smith of Moline; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Jason Farrell of Moline, Joetta and Andrew Janssen of Port Orchard, WA; grandchildren, Sommer and Andrea Janssen, Jason and Jordan Farrell; parents, Richard and Marcella Smith of Moline; grandmother, Daisy Lang of MO; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lori and Mike Ayers of Swedona, IL, Amee and Todd Stetter of Colona, IL; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Smith of Davenport, IA, Ryan and Terra Smith of East Moline; special friend, Laura York of East Moline; several aunts, uncles, cousins.
