Funeral services for Raymond J. "Jimmy" Campos Jr., 78, of Silvis, IL, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Campos died Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family. Jimmy was born April 18, 1939, in Moline, IL, the son of Raymond and Consuelo Soto Campos. He married Guadalupe Sierra January 7, 1967 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. He had worked as a barber and was also a "Culinary Specialist" at the Acapulco Cafe, Rock Island. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was proud that he sent all his children and grandchildren to Catholic Schools. He was an avid reader and a superhero at heart. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Guadalupe; children, Raymond Campos III, Silvis, Raylando (Sandra) Campos, Moline, Ramona Trout, Silvis, Renee (Jeff) Valenzuela, East Moline, Rachel Campos, Silvis, Rae Ann (Richard) Butts, Killeen, TX, Raelanda Campos, Silvis, Raymeo (Lindsay) Campos, Silvis, Raelynn (Jesus) Medina, Moline; grandchildren, Kayla, Krista, Jessica, Brianna, Joshua, Laura, Emilio, Lea, Alysia, Raynah, RaeLee, Raegan, Sophia, Christian, Gabriel, and one on the way; brother, Rupert "Pete" (Sarah) Campos, Moline and Jesus "Jess" Campos, Rock Island, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jeremiah Butts, siblings, Esther Villarreal (Jose Villarreal), Sally Perez (John Perez), Elena Campos, Rudy Campos, and Richard Campos, sister-in-law, Nancy Campos, special nephew, Christopher Villarreal.
