Funeral services for Raymond J. Rasmussen, 91, East Moline, are 10 AM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, with Rev. Don Reffett of 1st Christian Church, Moline, officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Rasmussen died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Kidney Foundation. Raymond was born April 30, 1913 in East Moline, the son of John A. and Mary C (Andersen) Rasmussen. He married Sarah Turner, March 14, 1936 in Springfield, IL. She died July 14, 1976. Ray worked as a welder and retired in 1971 as a set-up man at the former International Harvester Works, East Moline. Ray enjoyed hunting and riding his quad-runner. He was a member of the Moline Eagles and the Viking Club. Survivors include his children and spouses Barbara and Bill Meyers, East Moline, George and Nancy Rasmussen, Taylor Ridge, and Linda and Ron Miller, Moline, grandchildren; Laura, Wendy, Scott, Chad and Nicole, 5 great-grandchildren and a sister Mildred Buller, Moline. His wife, a brother, 2 sisters and granddaughter Kristy Welch precede him in death.
