Funeral services for Sgt. Raymond J. Yeargle, 51, Rock Island, are 10 AM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is 2-6PM Sunday at the funeral home. Ray died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education fund for Ray's step-grandson Bubba. Ray was born February 10, 1957, in Moline, the son of Darrell "Fosko" and Catherine (Crimmins) Yeargle. He graduated from United Township High School in 1975. He married Billie Carlton in 1996. Ray was serving in the Iowa National Guard Company A 334 Brigade Support Battalion of Davenport. He served a tour in Afghanistan from 2004-05. He worked at Scott County Facility & Support Services. Ray enjoyed working with his hands, whether working on one of his old cars or making repairs to his rental properties. He also had raised and raced pigeons since he was 16 and belonged to Moline/East Moline Pigeon Club. Survivors include his parents; Cathy and Fosko Yeargle, East Moline, brother Tim, East Moline, sister Danielle Hughes, Port Byron, special friend Debbie Eitel, Davenport and her children Desiree and Daniel, step daughter Amber and his pride and joy, his step grandson Nathaniel Kane "Bubba" Kunce.
