Funeral services for Rebecca Anderson, 20, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at the The Believers Together Community Center at Christ the King Parish in Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 1:00-7:00 PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at noon. Rebecca died Thursday December 30, 2010 at Children's Hospital at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, after a courageous battle with leukemia. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family or to the University of Iowa Dance Marathon. Rebecca was born March 30, 1990 in Silvis, IL, the daughter of Denny and Janet Schadt Anderson. She was a graduate of UTHS Class of 2008 and had been attending Black Hawk College. While in high school she had played soccer, been a member of the Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Student Council. She had worked as a lifeguard at area pools and loved giving swimming lessons to the kids. She also worked at American Eagle Outfitters at Southpark Mall, Moline. She was involved with Teens Encounter Christ at The Believers Center, Moline. She and her family are a Dance Marathon Family at the University of Iowa. Survivors include her parents Denny and Janet Anderson of East Moline; brother, Chris Anderson of East Moline; grandmothers, Dorothy Schadt of Silvis and Caroline Anderson of East Moline, great aunt Ann Tickoff of Silvis; aunts and uncles, Sue and Darrel Cutkomp of East Moline, Linda and Jeff Boyle of East Moline, Dennis Schadt of Boise Idaho; cousins, Cody, Corey, Traci, and Niki.
