Funeral services for Refugia L. "Cuca" Montecino, 88, formerly of Moline, are 11 AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4PM. A memorial fund has been established. Ms. Montecino died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, OK. Refugia was born December 9, 1919 in Clarion, IA, the daughter of Stephen and Leonarda (Baltierra) Montecino. Cuca retired after 30 years of service from the former International Harvester Works, East Moline. She was devoted to her church, enjoyed reading, shopping and watching the old classics on TV. She also enjoyed visiting with family and riding the bus. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Amaria and Palmer Ramsey Jr., Edmond, OK, granddaughter Tiffany Ramsey, Edmond, a sister Frances Ruiz, Moline, a brother-in-law Poncho Moreno and a sister-in-law Annie Montecino and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jessie Moreno and Rose Montecino and a brother Ramon Montecino.
