Rene Cardona, 39, East Moline, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home. Funeral services are 11 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 3PM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Rene was born August 6, 1978 in Silvis, the son of Frank and Verlie (Murillo) Cardona. He married Cristina Barrera on May 26, 2014 in East Moline. He had worked at Sivyer Steel, Bettendorf. Rene enjoyed fishing, the Green Bay Packers and his music. Survivors include his wife Cristina, children, Julia, Emanuel, Yenelie, Angel and Joel, his parents of East Moline, brothers, Frankie Cardona, East Moline, Daniel Cardona, East Moline and Bibi (Christina) Cardona, Muscatine, many nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law Amanda, Miki and Victoria.
