Renee A. Soots, 69, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday February 8, 2017 at home. Funeral services are 11:00AM Monday, February 13, 2017 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd. In East Moline. Visitation is 4:00PM-6:00PM Sunday at the funeral home where memorials may be made to the Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Colona. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Renee was born January 18, 1948 in Moline, a daughter of Howard William and Florence (Wigman) Bussert. She graduated from United Township High School, class of 1966 and married David Soots on November 18, 1967 in Moline. Mrs. Soots retired from the Water Department of the City of East Moline, as a billing clerk after 32 years of service. Renee enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Colona. Renee is survived by her husband, David; two children: David (Donna Clark) Soots of Clarksville, TN and Julie (David) Houghton of Dubuque, IA; three grandchildren: Jake, Brittain, and Dustin; two brothers: Tom (Sue) Bussert of East Moline, and Joe (JoDe Walker) Bussert of Port Byron; one sister: Jeanne (Larry) McNew of Hampton and several nieces and nephews.
