Funeral services for Rex E. Cass, 95, of East Moline, IL, will be 2:00PM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday. Mr. Cass died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, Inc. Bukolt Park, Stevens Point, WI 54481. Mr. Cass was born April 4, 1912 in Alpha, IL, the son of Fred and Nellie (Ellickson) Cass. He married Dorothy Wanless in December of 1932 in Rockford, IL. She died in 1984. He retired in 1972 from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, after 41 years of service. He had been a terrific baseball coach and an avid gardener. He was a loving father and grandfather. Survivors include: his son and daughter-in-law, Rex W. and Nina Cass of Amherst, WI; grandchildren, Benjamin Cass, Jillian (Todd) Hornick; sister, Dorothy Guldenpfennig of Geneseo, IL; brothers and sister-in-law, Glenn Cass of Silvis, Don and Wanda Cass of East Moline.
