Richard J. "Dick" DeBaillie, 81, Silvis, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline with Military Honors. Visitation is 2-7PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2PM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Quad City Honor Flight. Dick was born August 25, 1931 in Moline, the son of Edward and Margaret (Sadnick) DeBaillie. He married Joanne DeMeyer on December 27, 1952 at St. John's Catholic Church, Rapids City, IL. She died August 27, 2002. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Dick retired in 1982 from John Deere Foundry. He was a member and past president of the UAW local 81, member and past secretary/treasurer of the Silvis Eagles Club, Catholic Order of Foresters, Port Byron American Legion, Silvis Masonic Lodge, and the Marine Corp League. Dick enjoyed listening to music, playing his guitar and loved spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren. He was an avid Chicago Bull's and Chicago Cub's Fan. Survivors include his children (spouses), Nancy (Gary) Gryp, East Moline, Rick (Denise) DeBaillie, East Moline, Sue Capella, Silvis, Julie (Mike) Keegan, East Moline and Marty "Max" (Lori) DeBaillie, Geneseo, seventeen grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, sister Mary Cirivello, Moline, brother Donald DeBaillie, Geneseo and his special friend and companion, Arlene Murphy (and her loving family).
