Funeral services for Richard "Dick" Goderis, 72, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Hope United Church of Christ, Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Goderis died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Trinity Moline. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Dick was born July 20, 1939 in Moline, the son of Palmer and Martha Popelier Goderis. He married Deanna VanQuathem in September of 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. She died December 17, 1991. He later married Sheila (Minarsich) Myers July 17, 1992 in Rock Island. He retired from General Pattern, Moline, after 42 years of pattern making. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, and woodworking. He was a Green Bay Packer fan and an Illini fan. He had been a member of the East End Bolders Club, Moline, for over 30 years. He had coached his kids sports, including baseball, basketball, and softball. Dick enjoyed life and loved stirring up trouble. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Goderis, East Moline; children, Dan (Laurie) Goderis, Marion, IA, Deb (James) Johnson, Moline, IL, Vickie (David) Parker, Moline, Julie (Tim) Anderson, Moline; grandchildren, Danielle, Becky (Zach Heisler), Nicole Goderis, Briana (Justin) Hilligoss, MacKenzie Johnson, Andrew Parker, Sam, Katie, and Tommy Anderson, and Laura (Bill) Stanley; great-grandchildren, Kaj Hilligoss, Wil, Asher, and Ava Stanley. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, infant sister, Marie Goderis and sister, Arlene Hahn.
