Richard D. Helmer, Jr., 63, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at St. Anthony Care Center, Rock Island. No services are planned at this time. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. Richard was born January 8, 1959 in Spring Valley, Illinois, the son of Richard and Hazel Mitchell Helmer. Richard had worked at Quad-City Die Casting as a machine operator for several years. He was an avid gamer and fan of World of Warcraft. Surviving are his sister, Kristy Rasso, East Moline; half sister, Tracy Helmer, DePue, IL; niece, Michele Singleton, East Moline; and great nieces and great nephew, Taren, Jasmine and Tyler. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mark Underwood.
