Richard D. "Dick" Hooten, 80, East Moline, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. A celebration of his life will be held from 11AM to 1PM Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the East Moline American Legion , 829 16th Ave., East Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded and private family committal will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Richard was born June 27, 1930 in Davenport, IA, the son of Morris and Vivian (Wood) Hooten. He was a jack of all trades but spent most of his working career as a welder for the IBEW. Dick was a US Marine Corp veteran. He enjoyed watching his grandson and great grandson motocross race. Survivors include his companion of the last 20 years, Patsy Ball, children (spouses); Daria (Daryl) Selhost, Moline, Tammy (Bill) Long, Moline, Vicki (Jerimiah) Granito, Farmington, NM, Allen (Joey) Ball, Rifle, CO, and Kevan (Marcy) Melton, Geneseo, thirteen grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a special cousins Georgia Denny and Linda Baenziger.
