Memorial services for Richard J. "Dick" Noppe, 82, of East Moline, IL, will be 11 am Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday. Entombment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, at a later date. Mr. Noppe passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Dick was born June 1, 1940, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Adolph and Anna (Emme) Noppe. He was a graduate of Alleman High School Class of 1958 and attended St. Ambrose College. He married Linda L. Jessen April 30, 1971, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rock Island. He retired as a machinist from the Rock Island Arsenal September 9, 1999, after 39 years of service. Dick was a talented welder and mechanic. He was a passionate drag racer and had raced throughout the country. He had built his own race cars and had set several records over the years. He was a lifetime NHRA member and had collected vintage signs and memorabilia. He liked trains, planes, and anything mechanical.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Noppe, East Moline and children, David A. (Rachel) Rapids City, IL, and Kristine R. Noppe, Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Carol Noppe and Robert Noppe.

Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Moline, IL.
