Richard E. Keithley, 74, Moline, passed away on December 28, 2017 at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services are 10 AM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 2-5 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Richard was born July 25, 1943 in Avon, IL, the son of Charles and Norma Keithley. He worked as a Policeman for the city of Bushnell, IL and Carbon Cliff as well as campus police at Black Hawk College. He most recently drove the courtesy shuttle for Green Chevrolet, East Moline. Richard enjoyed bowling, playing cards with his family and attending stock car races. He married Diane Garrett on April 2, 2002 in Rock Island. He served in the US Marine Corps. He was also a Vietnam Veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Diane, children, Shannon (Buck) Harmening, East Moline, Robert (Christy) Keithley, Orlando, FL, Jarod Sanderson, Canton, IL, Ray Garrett, Houston, TX, Tracey Berry, Moline, Stephen (Hye Won) Garrett, Clarendon Hills, IL and Shelley (Warren) Beine, Bettendorf, eight grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and siblings, Inez Phelps, Michael Danner and Eddie Danner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Karen Markham and Charles Keithley.
