Richard L. Montez, 82, of Silvis, passed away Monday May 4, 2020 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.

Private Entombment services will be held at St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. A memorial mass will be held at later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., East Moline have been entrusted with the arrangements.

Richard was born October 11, 1937 in Silvis, a son of Luz and Alvina (Martinez) Montez. He married Margarita Sanchez, on November 10, 1971. He was a cook for several restaurants in the area, including Short Hills Country Club. He enjoyed golfing with his friends, and was an excellent husband.

He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, and was a past president of Foster Insurance also in Silvis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margarita, and a lot of nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
