Obituary

Richard “Rick” Allen Fieser, 72, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island. A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date. Memorials may be made in Rick’s honor to the Diabetes Foundation Inc. or to the American Heart Association.

Rick was born on December 26, 1953, in Moline, the son of Garland and Shirley (Robinson) Fieser. He married Gemma Berry on May 1, 1976 and they proudly celebrated their 50th anniversary, which he was honored to do with her. Rick was last employed at Group O in the warehouse, and had previously worked for John Deere Inc. He enjoyed watching all sports, primarily any hockey games, and all Chicago area teams. Rick was a dedicated Chicago Cubs fan, and in a beautiful twist of fate, he cheered them on to victory on the very day he passed. Alongside Gemma, he was also an enthusiastic dart player. Together, they traveled and hosted tournaments, sharing their passion for the game with friends and fellow players. Known affectionately to his loved ones as “Grumpy”, Richard cherished time spent with family and friends.

Rick is survived by his wife, Gemma Fieser, Moline; sons, Nathaniel (Valarie) Fieser, Buffalo, NY, and Lindsey (Melissa Neff) Fieser, Moline; grandchildren, Alura (Zach) Gould, Isaac (Sunny) Fieser, Alice Fieser, Emmett Fieser, and Rory Neff; great grand-daughter, Freya Gould, and one on the way; sisters, Sherry Fieser, Honolulu, HI, and Cindy (Michael) Clancey, San Antonio, TX; and several brother and sister in laws, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Fieser.
