Richard L. Shewmake, 55, of East Moline passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life gathering for Richard will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family.

Richard was born on April 6, 1968 in Galena, IL, the son of Richard E. Shewmake and Judy Haarman. He graduated from United Township High School.

Richard's hobbies included listening to his scanners, music, locksmithing, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Richard's memory include his parents, Richard E. Shewmake, Eldridge, IA and Judy Huettman, Moline, IL; children, Doug Shewmake, Davenport, IA, Kaylee Shewmake, and Kathryn Shewmake; grandchildren, Jade, Isaac, Raena, Brysen, and Amira; sister, Nicol Shewmake, Park View, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
