Funeral services for Richard Lee Weaver, 69, of Colona, IL, will be 10AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation will be 4-7PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Weaver died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at his home. Richard was born April 15, 1947, in Moline, IL, the son of Richard and Shirley Walsh Weaver. He attended Carbon Cliff Schools and graduated from UTHS in 1965. He served in the US Air Force from 1966 - 1970. He was stationed in Dunang, Vietnam He married Brooking Cole in 1970. He later married Janet Struse in 1973. He later married Karen Fuehring in 1986. He worked 34 years with the Sheet Metal Workers Local 91 QC, and 5 years with Local 73 Chicago. After retiring in 2005, he worked at various casinos in the Quad City area, last at Jumer's Casino. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Karen; children, Scott (Theresa) Weaver, Port Byron, IL, Beth (Frank) Lujan, Wellington, CO, and Kathy Weaver (Bob Ziegler), Geneseo, IL; step children, Robert (Stacy) Fuehring, Lost Nation, IA, Jeffrey Fuehring (Rebecca Lopez), Preston, IA, Kenneth (Rebecca) Fuehring, Highland, IN, and Patricia Fuehring (Jason Posten), Lost Nation, IA; grandchildren, Scott Weaver, Nicole Weaver, Cory Weaver, Abby Weaver, Courtny Martin, Miranda Lujan, William Sellers, Shyanne Sellers, Mystique Mettler, Mia Katzenburger, Connor (Shayna) Fuehring, Jacob Fuehring, Joshua Fuehring, Charlie Bell, Jason Posten, and Sophia Posten; sisters, Sue (Tom) Thye, Lois (Jim) Marando, and Vickie (Don) Spindel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frederick and Patricia Douglas; brother-in-law, Fredrick Douglas; sisters-in-law, Vickie Duyvejonck and Terri Weinberg. He was preceded in death by his Parents, step mother, Rachel Weaver and brother-in-law Robert Weinberg. Memorials may be made to the family.
