Funeral services for Ricky S. Wiersema, 49, of East Moline, IL, will be 10 AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be 4-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Wiersema died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at his home. Memorials may be made to the family. Ricky was born November 12, 1958 in Savanna, IL, the son of Harold and Annette (Hook) Wiersema. He had been a cook at the former IBP, Joslin, IL, and most recently he had worked as a janitor for KVF Quad, East Moline. Ricky was an avid gardener and loved working in his yard. He was an excellent artist and chef. His family loved him deeply and will be missed by all. Survivors include: his mother, Annette Wiersema of Silvis, IL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Steve O'Brien of Rock Island, IL, Vicky and Ron Schlotfeldt of Joslin, Jane and Randall Young of Madisonville, TN, Debra and Kim Rosenberg of Port Byron, IL; brothers and sister-in-law, Dave Wiersema of Bend, OR, Randy Wiersema of East Moline, Toby and Angie Wiersema of East Moline. He is preceded in death by his father.
