Rita Mae (Huggart) O'Dell , peacefully entered Heaven's gate on June 25, 2024 at the age of 90, in Selma, Texas.

A longtime resident of East Moline, IL, she was born in Wyanet, IL on March 30, 1934 to Edward Sr. and Irene (DePauw) Huggart.

She was a devoted mother and deeply loved her family. Her daughters were her pride and joy. Her happiest times were spent with her family. She loved their weekly family lunches with her aunts, uncles and cousins and she loved baking for them.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Frazier of Spring Lake, NC, Rebecca Hobbs (Ronnie) of San Antonio, TX, Merline Hensley (Thomas) of Deming, NM, Elizabeth Reynolds of Hickory Creek, TX; brother, Edward Huggart (Janice); Goddaughter, Arlene (Nickerson) Maynard, Rock Island, IL; eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren; two nieces, three nephews and many, many cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Edward Eugene Huggart, Sr, her mother, Irene Marie (DePauw) Huggart, her sister, Janette (Huggart) Cornmesser and her brother, Vernon Huggart, and granddaughter, Rona Lynn Thompson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 10:00 am at Van Hoe Funeral Home, 1500 6th St, East Moline, IL.

Private burial will be in East Moline, IL.
