Funeral services for Rita C. Krauel, 84, Moline, are 10 AM Friday at First Christian Church, East Moline. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Estate. Visitation is 4-7 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. A memorial fund has been established. Rita died Monday, September 29, 2008 at Trinity Regional Health Systems, Rock Island. Rita Steil was born February 24, 1924 in Moline, the daughter of Andrew and Alice (Stapel) Steil. She married Robert Littlewood in 1940, she married Harold "Reed" Ford in 1959, and he died in 1963. She married Carl Krauel, August 7, 1965 and he died in 1994. Rita had worked at International Harvester during WWII, later at Birtman Electric and finally at Buddy L Toy Company. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the Indian Bluff Ladies Golf Club. Rita was an avid Chicago Cub Fan and loved to play bridge. Survivors include stepdaughter Sharon young, East Moline, step son-in-law and his spouse Richard and Barbara Davis, Davenport, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson. She is preceded in death by her brother Andrew, her sister Monetta and a stepdaughter Patricia Davis.
