Funeral services for Rita F. Peterson, 72, of East Moline, IL, will be 4PM Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be 1-4 PM Sunday prior to services at the funeral home. She passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at her home, after an extended illness, surrounded by her family.

Rita was born August 6, 1951, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Norman and Marie DeBates Peterson. She was considered a "jack of all trades" and over the years she had worked several jobs. She loved fishing and camping. Her life revolved around her family.

Survivors include life partner of 34 years, Jill Anliker, East Moline; siblings, Deborah Hurley, Sheffield, IL, Richard Peterson, Moline, IL, Terri Skiles Sheffield, Tom Kelly, Macomb, IL, Marilyn (Dave) Ludin, Port Byron, IL, Donna Kelly, Le Claire, IA, and Steven Kelly, Princeton, IA; special family, Ed and Tammy Wilson, Mary Byam, and Zeke and Angel Nichols; the Anliker family and the Beechamp family; many nieces and nephews; and Rita and Jill's boxer, "Willow."

She was preceded in death by her parents and great great nephew, Gus MacQuarrie.
