Robert "Bob" L. Bailey, 90, of East Moline, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at Silvis Center, Silvis.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline.  Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.  Burial will be at Hampton Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.  Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with services.

Bob was born on January 22, 1935, in Moline, the son of Chauncey and Leola (Filbert) Bailey.  He married Theresa VanHecke on April 27, 1962, in East Moline.  Bob was a proud veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps.  Bob earned a Master's degree in education from Western Illinois University.  He was the Principal at Glenview Junior High School, East Moline for many years where he impacted the lives of many students until his retirement. After retiring, Bob worked as an usher at Modern Woodmen Park where he enjoyed meeting new people, striking up conversations, and watching the game he loved. Bob was an avid golfer, a bird enthusiast who loved feeding and watching them, a dedicated follower of United Township High School and Illini basketball, and a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandsons play sports.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Theresa Bailey, Silvis; daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Vercautren, Naperville, IL; son, Jon (Justine) Bailey, Schaumburg, IL; and grandsons, Max, Jack, Lucas, and Logan.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty Hawkins and Barb Driscoll.
