Robert L. "Bob" Sanders , 91, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026 at MercyOne-Genesis East, Davenport, IA.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL, where visitation will be one hour prior to services Thursday. Interment, with military honors presented by East Moline American Legion Post 227, will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.

Robert was born April 25, 1934, in Quincy, Illinois, to William C. and Fern C. (Evans) Sanders. He married Marlene J. Loftus in 1974 in Rock Island, IL. She preceded him in death on February 29, 1992.

Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement, Bob worked at John Deere.

He was an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo, and visiting Bally's Casino.

Surviving are his siblings, Richard S. Sanders, Hillsdale, IL, Grace A. Garner, Quincy, IL, Betty J. Burch, Peoria, IL, Earl A. (Mary) Sanders, Rock Island, IL, and Roger A.L. Sanders, California; ten nieces & nephews that were adopted and raised by his parents; and numerous additional nieces and nephews, and their families.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; her four children; ;his parents, William and Fern; and siblings, William E. Sanders, Delores F. Davis, Hazel I. Akers, Mary L. Schmidt, John L. Sanders, Anna F. Hipkins, Arthur F. Sanders, Edward "Tommy" Sanders.
