Robert L. Brackevelt, 85, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday April 24, 2023 at Genesis-Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Van Hoe Funeral Home.

Robert was born October 23, 1937 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Albert and Mary Wiborg Brackevelt. He graduated from Moline High School. He was previously married to Sue L. Peterson. He later married Shirleen A. Stuehm Minteer on October 23, 1982 in East Moline.

He retired from Alcoa following 30 years of service.

Robert enjoyed traveling to Arizona, riding motorcycles, camping, puzzles and playing Word with Friends. Some of his favorite times were those spent with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are his wife, Shirleen, of East Moline; daughters, Marcy Kozlowski and Christine DeWild, both of Moline; stepchildren, Gregory (Christine) Minteer, Colleyville, TX, Michael (Tracey) Minteer, East Moline; Scott (Brooke) Minteer, Coppell, TX; stepson-in-law, Gy Williams, East Moline; grandchildren, Cory (Amanda) Vincent, Ashley (Hector) Tilton, Adam (Amanda) Gripp, Jada (Curtis) Allen, Chad (Lisa) DeWild, Courtney Weimer, Alisha (Ryan) Rosse, Andrea (Nick) Bell, Grace Minteer and Sam Minteer, Mitch (Kali) Williams and Sara Williams; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; stepdaughter, Rhonda Williams; and son-in-law, Mike DeWild.
