Robert J. Bush, 83, Moline, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Church or to Alleman High School, Rock Island. Bob was born on May 1, 1932 in Rock Island, the son of Ben and Martha (DeSchepper) Bush. He was part of the first graduating class of Alleman High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a Airman 1st Class. He married Juanita King on January 2, 1954 at St. Anne's. He retired in 1992 from John Deere Plow Planter, Moline. He had also owned and operated 2 gas stations and a laundry mat. Bob was an active member of St. Anne Church, serving on the parish council and as an usher. He was instrumental in the parish's monthly bingo nights and has been lovingly referred to as "Bingo Bob". He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and East Moline American Legion. Bob was fun loving and had a great sense of humor. He and his wife wintered in Daytona Beach, FL for many years and they loved to travel. He enjoyed boating on the river, liked a great party with relatives and friends, but most of all, was happiest spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Juanita; children: David (Kim) Bush, Moline, ReNae (Peter) Stucki, Geneva, IL, and Darrell (Nancy) Bush, Rock Island; grandchildren: Katie (Kevin) Bautch, Peter Stucki, Caroline Stucki, Alyssa Bush, Ryan Bush and Jade Konitzer; great grandchildren: Sam, Owen and Lila; siblings: Phyllis (Robert) Fluegel, Taylor Ridge and Bernard (Rose Marie) Bush, Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Eleanor Behnken, Tom Bush and Virginia Tank.
