Private funeral services for Robert "Bob" Dravis, 87, of East Moline, IL, will be Friday. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Services will be live streamed 10 am Friday at http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome Mr. Dravis passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL. Bob was born June 15, 1933, in Moline, IL, the son of Alfred and Ruth (Hermanson) Dravis. He married Janet Harrison August 8, 1954, in Waukon, IA. He served in the US Air Force, where he was stationed in Alaska and Florida. In 1968 he began working for Bituminous Insurance Company in the Collection Department. In 1975 he was promoted to Manager of Agency Accounts, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Bituminous 20 Year Club, a member of First Presbyterian Church, East Moline, where he served as Trustee and Deacon. He attended Iowa Hawkeye Football games and Chicago Cubs games, and seldom missed a game on television. He was an avid woodcarver, founding the Mississippi Valley Woodcarvers Club in 1970. Over the years created woodcarvings for his church and the Christmas Season. In the summer of 2012 he became involved with "Making Palm Crosses" and made over 700 crosses. He enjoyed making furniture for his daughter, Susan. He volunteered for Genesis Hospital Silvis, the Bix Festival, Festival of Trees, and tutored at Ridgewood School. Survivors include his wife, Janet, East Moline; daughter, Susan Dravis, Dubuque, IA; niece, Mary Lou (Joe) Dravis-Hott, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Irene (Norman)Fiet, AZ; and nephew, Kevin Fiet, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles (Peggy) Dravis. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, East Moline.
