Funeral services for Robert M. Feller, 75, Rock Island, are 10 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Bob died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in hopes of a cure for Bob's great-grandson Cole. He was born November 12, 1935 in Marengo, IA, the son of Maurice and Margaret (Roete) Feller. Bob served in Germany for 3 years while enlisted in the US Army. He married Marilyn "Mickey" Harker and together they raised four children. He later married Macrina Bruno in 1990. Bob retired in 1996 as a material handler after 30 years with John Deere Harvester, East Moline. He was one of the first members of the Corn Belt Running Club, had run in a Boston Marathon and participated in the the first BIX 7. Bob enjoyed the art of sign language and studied it passionately. He was a very loving and wonderful father. Survivors include his wife, Macrina, children: JoLynn (Ed) Neaves, Moline, Robert S. (Melissa) Feller, Silvis, Beth (Steve) Bomelyn, Rock Island, Joseph Bruno, Dubuque, IA, and Amy (Scott) Stoner, Hershey, PA, twelve grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and his sister Judy Davis of Florence, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ed.
