Robert J. Hickenbottom, 67, Moline, are 10 AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private family committal will be at a later date at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at the funeral home. Robert died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Parkview Terrace, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. He was born February 19, 1943 in Fairfield, IA, the son of Fern and Gertrude (Ross) Hickenbottom. He married Karen Theresa Babinski on April 2, 1988 in Bettendorf, IA. Robert worked at Thoms Prosler Co., Rock Island and previously at Chateau Standard and at Jaydon Distributing. He enjoyed camping and NASCAR and loved working in the yard. He was a member of the Friends Circle Club, Moline. Survivors include his children and their spouses; James and Debbie Hickenbottom, East Moline, Christy and Greg Vols, East Moline and Kathleen and Dan Willits, Milan, seven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Deb Hickenbottom of Taylor Ridge, IL, a sister Linda Ristau of Cedar Rapids, sister-in-law Sharon Babinski, Moline and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Clarence and his uncle Roger Hickenbottom.
