Funeral services for Robert J. Horn, 88, of Silvis, IL, will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00AM Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Horn died Monday, November 18, 2013, at LaSalle Veterans Home, LaSalle, IL. Memorials may be made to the LaSalle Veterans Home. Bob was born January 29, 1925 in Moline, IL, the son of Robert Julius and Julia Van De Velde Horn. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Anna Ligget May 24, 1947, in East Moline. He had worked at Minneapolis-Moline, International Harvester East Moline and retired from John Deere Harvester in 1994. After retirement he worked for his sons at State Street Fitness, Bettendorf, IA and Horn's Auto Salvage, Colona, IL. In his earlier years Bob had been a Golden Glove Champion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and working at the salvage yard. Survivors include his children, Robert W. (Sharon) Horn, Milan, Dianna (Jeff) Lambert, Rapids City, IL, and Lonnie (Ronda) Horn, Moline; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Margie (Vernon) Smith, East Moline and Barbara (Irvin) Hendrix, East Moline; brother, Richard Horn, SD.
